The adventure that started it all

This is the adventure that started it all — the very first NomaTrails route, run for over 15 years. A 7-day gourmet trail-running holiday along the wild Catalan coast, following the historic Camí de Ronda from cove to hidden cove.

You'll run medieval villages, pine-scented headlands and turquoise water, dropping down for a swim in the Mediterranean whenever the trail meets the sea. Nights are spent in characterful hotels — a converted seaside monastery, a rural farmhouse — with world-class Catalan cuisine and wine as much a part of the trip as the running.

It's our most accessible Vacation-level trip: varied but forgiving, ~100–120 km across seven running days that flex with the group. See the 2027 dates, or take on the mountains on our Pyrenees to the Med crossing.

Run with our family

This is where NomaTrails was born — Pablo and Cristina have run these coves for over 15 years, and it's still the trip they lead personally, start to finish. Expect their favourite coffee stops, the restaurants only locals know, and a week that feels like running with old friends.

"We use running just as a means of transportation — a way to discover, as an exploration, like our ancestors did in the past."

Good to know

How hard is it?

This is our Vacation level — ~100–120 km (7 running days; distances flex a lot with the group) of trail running. A regular running routine is plenty — no need to be a super athlete.

What's the terrain like?

Coastal Camí de Ronda paths, pine headlands, medieval cobbled streets and the occasional road link — plus plenty of chances to swim. Varied, scenic and accessible.

What's included?

All accommodation, daily meals, expert local guides and full support. Flights not included.

Who is this trip for?

Any reasonably fit runner who loves good food and beautiful coastline. It's our most accessible Vacation-level trip and routes flex to the group, so a regular running routine is plenty.

How long have you run it?

This was our very first route — we've run the Costa Brava for over 15 years, so every trail, cove and restaurant is dialled in.

Is it just running?

Not at all — expect Mediterranean swims, medieval towns, Catalan history and Michelin-level dinners. The food and culture are half the trip.

Where do we stay?

Characterful local hotels — from a converted seaside monastery to a rural farmhouse — chosen for location and charm, not chains.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely — most runners travel solo and are part of a warm group from day one. Prices are based on double accommodation, so solo travellers may have a small single supplement.

How do I book?

Click “Reserve your spot” or request the brochure for full details, then we'll confirm your place on the next departure.

What happens on the 30-minute fit call?

It's a friendly conversation, not a sales call. We talk about your running, answer every question, and make sure this trip genuinely fits you — terrain, distances, group rhythm. If it's not the right trip, we'll tell you and suggest a better one. Every booking starts with this call.

Am I fit enough for this trip?

If you can comfortably run 10–12 km with plenty of stops (we adapt the pace to the group), you'll be fine. And the fit call exists exactly to answer this honestly for your case - we've guided first-time adventurers and ultrarunners on the same trips, and the support crew means nobody is ever left behind.

How far in advance do trips sell out?

Costa Brava has four 2027 dates and one — 19–25 April — is already fully booked. Spring dates go first. Booking the fit call early reserves your conversation, not your money.
