Ready to Run? Our Trail Running Vacations Await
We don’t just offer **trail running vacations**; we offer journeys that get under your skin. These aren’t your typical trips. They are deep dives into places we know and love, places where we have real connections. We’re talking about memories you’ll tell your grandkids, stories that truly change you. Seriously, be careful. You will go back home transformed.
For us, running isn’t about getting slim or hitting new fitness goals. It’s about exploration. It’s how our ancestors moved, seeing the world one step at a time. We use our legs, our lungs, our hearts, just as a way to traverse the territory. Only runners can do it this way. We go through places where running is the most efficient, most intimate way to see things. It might be hard for some folks to grasp at first, but trust me, these experiences will stick with you for life.

The NomaTrails Way: More Than Just Miles
This whole thing, NomaTrails (we used to call it Run the World Adventures), it grew out of 12 years of running the Costa Brava. Twelve years of guiding runners from all over the world through this incredible area. Getting to know the locals, building real relationships. That’s the core of it. We only go to places where we have a deep connection. Like, “this is my grandma,” or “this is the school my kids went to.” If we don’t have that, it feels fake, right?
We do this in Costa Rica, in Sicily, in Morocco, through the Atlas Mountains. It’s our signature. It’s a philosophy. It’s about seeing the world with your own two feet, really feeling the ground beneath you. It’s about more than just the run itself. If you’re the kind of person who loves to run point-to-point, discovering a new place every day, exploring and traversing an itinerary, then you’re one of us. You’re welcome to come.

Costa Rica: Where Lives Transform on Trail Running Vacations
Our adventures in Costa Rica are truly something else. I’ve seen it firsthand – these trips can really change you. We had this one couple, for example. They came to us married, but not to each other. When they joined us again for their next group trip, they were married to each other! Seriously, it happened. We’ve had so many couples tell us we saved their marriage. Some even say their children wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for our trips. It’s about more than just running; it’s about reconnecting with yourselves and each other in the wild beauty of the rainforest. The challenges on the trail, the shared moments, the remoteness – it strips away the everyday and helps you find what really matters.
Morocco: Time Travel in the Atlas Mountains on Our Trail Running Vacations
Running in Morocco, especially through the Atlas Mountains, is an experience of a lifetime. Abdu, one of our incredible guides, puts it perfectly. He talks about waking up at 3 AM in the desert, running for two hours in the sand behind him, then just stopping. The quiet. The expert showing you every single star in the sky. You feel like you’re seeing them all for the very first time. And then, after that intense run, you get to watch the most beautiful sunrise you’ve ever witnessed. That’s the kind of moment we live for, created for small groups, intimate and real.
It’s not about changing money, it’s about sharing a meal, having a cup of tea. It’s about friendship. Many of my friends in Spain and America, after a tour, we talk and tears come to our eyes about the experiences we shared. We want to be your friends, keep in touch. That’s what our trips are all about.
I remember one day in Morocco, it was one of the most extraordinary days of my life. And it was so unexpected. We were running in the middle of nowhere, towards a place I didn’t even know. This was five and a half hours in the opposite direction from where any tourist bus would ever go from Marrakech. We just kept running, backpacks on, trusting the path, not knowing what was coming next. We crossed a mountain, a high peak, maybe 2000 meters, part of the Atlas range. And then, we stumbled upon this incredible, beautiful valley. A truly forgotten corner of the world, so far away from everything. It felt like time traveling. People there live just like they did 500 years ago. Their Berber language, which I’ve been trying to learn for nine years, seemed to flow so naturally from them. I still can’t quite get it, but I keep trying.
In that valley, we met a family. There was this 12-year-old girl, with a beautiful, bright face. You know how our kids can be little monsters sometimes? Well, this girl, she just ran off, found some wood, and made a fire for us without a word. Immediately, the family invited us for tea. We went into their simple home, shared that warm tea. It was pure, unadulterated hospitality. That’s what our **trail running vacations** offer – a chance to step outside your century and connect with humanity in its purest form. It’s a profound reset.
Sicily by Foot: Our Trail Running Vacations Across History
Pasquale, our guide in Sicily, he knows that island like the back of his hand. He describes our Sicily running adventures so vividly, you can almost feel the sun and dust. We start from the sea, running inland through the internal rural areas, the heart of the Sicilian countryside. We pass through these ancient mountain villages, places steeped in history. We climb higher, not by scaling jagged peaks, but by following the natural flow of the valleys, finding the gentler paths that wind upwards. It’s a different kind of ascent, more about the journey through the land.
From the high parts, we descend back towards the sea. Often, we stay in a beautiful village like Isnello. From Isnello, you can almost see the ocean, spread out before you like a blue carpet. Then we run another stretch, a truly rewarding part, taking us high above Cefalù. The coastline there, it’s wild. The mountains plunge straight into the sea, creating dramatic cliffs. Sometimes, for a short section, we might need a quick transfer in a vehicle. It’s a small jump, but it’s always worth it for the views, and for the chance to jump into the Mediterranean for a refreshing swim. It’s a journey through history, geology, and pure, unspoiled beauty, all experienced on foot.
