It’s a sight to see experienced trail runners glide downhill. They appear to fly effortlessly, soaring over rocks and obstacles without fear of falling, even over the most treacherous terrain. However, many runners struggle to overcome their fears on downhills and can become uneasy When trying to pick up the pace. Here are my top four tips for increasing your confidence and speed while running downhill on trails.

The importance of properly hydrating yourself throughout training and competitions cannot be overstated. Additionally, poor nutrition can worsen performance by increasing fatigue, and dehydration, which is directly related to poor thermoregulation, can have deadly health effects.

To me, the best way is to simply go out into the mountains without a plan and follow the trails you find along the route, at the end of the day, the goal of running is simply to be in nature.
